St. Albert, AB – Zeke Whelan scored two goals to lift the GPAC Higson Dental Storm to a 6-4 conquest over the RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna at Mark Messier Arena on Sunday.

Capping off the scoring for the GPAC Higson Dental Storm was Cohenn Rotar with two goals and Jhett Mcmurphy and Conrad Neudorf contributing with a goal each. Walker Alfred, Colby Kimble, Caelen Hogan and Nixon Bettenson each added two assists. Goaltender Bracken Larocque turned aside 41 shots for the GPAC Higson Dental Storm in the win.

Sniping for the RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna was Alexander Ruiz, Mason Szatmari, Alexander Sharman and Kolby Lutz each tallying single markers. Otis Jacques and Cole Hamakawa each added two assists. Goaltender Dylan Mingo made 37 saves in the loss for the RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna.

Whelan deposited his second of the tournament into an empty net with 1:01 left in the third period to seal the win for the GPAC Higson Dental Storm.

With the win, the GPAC Higson Dental Storm improve to 2-3-0-0 while the RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna fall to 2-3-0-0.
